HOPPE'S BORESNAKE REVIEW

Updated: Oct 1, 2020

HOPPE'S BORESNAKE It is no secret that firearm care is a key part of owning any gun. It's been particularly interesting to me as a big fan of Hoppe's cleaning products. I firmly believe in their cleaning procedures and also have a long history of routine experiences with them. Whilst a guy with true passion for all things firearms related, let us take a good look at why I trust merchandise like the Hoppe's Boresnake for my guns.

HOPPE'S Best BORESNAKE Review

Hoppe's Boresnake is that their patented variant of a firearm bore cleaning tool that closely resembles a scrub brush impregnated bit of rope. It is made up of brass weight at one end about the size of a 22LR cartridge. Each particular model gets the standard or gauge stamped across the side of it. The brass weight is clamped onto a thin piece of rope around 3 feet long. That lean rope is then connected to a thicker, stitched string. The thicker rope is woven around brass cleaning bristles close to the link.

If you have a firearm in need of cleaning, there's most likely a Boresnake designed to meet your requirements. The different standard of bore snakes are denoted by various colour patterns to help with rapid identification. Personally, I think it is an ingenious design and I wish I had discovered them sooner in my shooting career.

For people who don't understand mepersonally, I tend to be very obsessive with maintaining my firearms clean. (YesI stated M16A2. I served in the 90's) A clean firearm has less chance of a stoppage or malfunction compared to when it is filthy. I, like a great deal of people, am constantly on the lookout for something to make my life easier. I routinely shoot more than some people and also a lot less than others. When shooting, carbon monoxide gets in the bore, the room, the magazine, the magazine well and all types of different places which you did not think gunshot residue would go. It is the nature of the beast and cannot be avoided.

The Best Boresnake Review is designed to help keep your bore sterile and do this quickly to keep your gun running more in the field. This extends the barrels life, increases its reliability and improves or maintains accuracy. All three of these can become rather expensive problems. As the great Benjamin Franklin once said,"An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure".

SAFE USE OF THE HOPPE'S BORE SNAKE

Before we talk about the proper way to use a Boresnake, make certain that you take the appropriate actions to ensure a safe work environment just like you'd regardless if you are using, cleaning and storing firearms. To do this, make sure the firearm is unloaded, the magazine or cylinder is empty, and all ammunition is removed from the room or immediate place where you're handling the firearm.

Alright, now that we have a safe firearm and work area, we can let us start the tutorial. While field stripping the firearm isn't essential, it will produce cleaning the bore considerably easier in some cases. Hoppe's recommends beginning by inserting the brass weight front the chamber in end of the barrel. Once inserted, feed it all the way from the muzzle end. Grab the brass weight with your hands and pull on the Bore Snake all of the way throughout the barrel.

The Boresnake performs two functions in one fell swoop. First, the brass bristles impregnated into the rope loosen up debris and dirt out of the grooves and lands as it is pulled through the barrel. Second, the residual woven part acts as a cleaning cloth and eliminates that debris and dirt out of the bore. I typically run the Boresnake through the back of my guns two to three occasions at least. Hoppe's claims that once is sufficient but as I mentioned earlier, I'm kind of obsessive about maintaining my firearms clean two times is far better than one and three times is better than two.

You might also have the Boresnake perform a third purpose in precisely the exact same movement. By putting just a little bit of lubricant onto the loop end of it you can lubricate the interior of the bore together with cleaning and removing the fouling. Doing three things at once makes my life much easier. My capacity to multi-task these days is not what it was, so I'll take all of the help I could get.

WHY TRUST HOPPE'S BORESNAKE

My initial impression of the Boresnake before utilizing one was that it was just a gimmick. I was used to placing a metal bore punch together that had an eyelet on the finish. I would push the patches through the bore by the muzzle end into the chamber and pull out them. I would repeat this motion until the stains came out clean. The CLP that we employed was a medium brown color and contained who knows what substances. I jumped to Uncle Sam at the time and they can do whatever they wanted to me. It wasn't my place to question the establishment. Most of us know, however, the government usually awards military contracts to the lowest priced bidder. Think about that for a minute then continue reading.

After I became educated concerning the simpler ways to clean firearms, a whole new world opened up for me. I experimented with all sorts of cleaning solutions. The Boresnake was one I kept coming back to. It is exceedingly simple to use and really does a superb job maintaining your bore clean. Best of all, the Boresnake is machine washable so even an argument about the accumulation of chemicals on it is invalid. I personally have never put any lubricant in my bore snake when conducting it through the barrel. I lubricate the bore with patches utilizing a drill. Frankly, I recommend a good solid cleaning from the floor up covering the entire area stripped firearm at least two times a year using cleaning kits such as Hoppe's pistol, shotgun or rifle kits. Again, maybe it is a throwback, maybe I just enjoy doing things the hard way.

The Boresnake is a superb product alone, not as coming from a mythical company for example Hoppe's. Whether you're a part-time job shooter or fulltime professional you should really check out the complete lineup of different models given at 1800GunsAndAmmo. The main point, Boresnakes do just what they say they're going to do and will save you time, headaches and money. As previously mentioned, they are not a replacement for routinely field stripping and completely cleaning your guns with a conventional apparel, but they sure do extent the time frame needed in doing so. In summary, the Boresnake is a"must" for keeping your pew-pew apparatus of choice in top shape for when you require that, so what exactly are you waiting for? Get some!
